Within the scope of the strategic business development, Ernst Lorch KG headquartered in Albstadt, Germany acquired the shares of Martika Autoteile GmbH headquartered in Backnang, Germany.

Transfer Partners has been mandated with the entire buy-side process up to the successful completion of the transaction.

Martika is a successful retailer and wholesaler in the automotive component industry and supplier of tools and accessories in the area of Stuttgart. Apart from its headquarters in Backnang, Martika has five further branch establishments in Schorndorf, Waiblingen, Winnenden, Steinheim a. d. Murr and Welzheim. As a family business with a tradition of more than forty years, Martika employs about 60 employees.

Lorch is mid-sized family business in its fourth generation. The authorized Bosch wholesaler headquartered in Albstadt, serves with a central warehouse and 19 branch establishments, clients and workshop partners in Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Apart from a high availability of goods and fast logistics, Lorch focus on comprehensive support for automotive workshops.

The employee base of Martika as well as all locations will be retained in the existing structure. A complete integration is striven from April onwards, whereat the established brand “Martika” is pursued among the retail business. Martika’s former shareholder, Mr. Lothar Riedel, will prospectively adopt an advisory role.

The acquisition of Martika illustrates the strategy of Lorch to continue further business expansion. The sales regions of Martika are an important and suitable extension to existing market areas.
