Within the scope of its business development, Kuhn Industrie Holding GmbH with headquarters in Radevormwald and additional sites in Taichung (Taiwan) and Stavanger (Norge) acquired the majority of M. Jürgensen GmbH & Co KG, Sörup.

Transfer Partners was mandated with the complete sales process including the preparation of the transaction-related documents, the research and identification of suitable buyers, the structuring of the due diligence examination and conducting negotiations up to the successful completion of the transaction.

M. Jürgensen is a globally leading manufacturer of cylinder liners for medium speed four-stroke engines. The high-quality products are used primarily in diesel, gas and dual-fuel engines as well as in compressors, but also in plant engineering and the petrochemical industry. A main field of application is propulsion and auxiliary equipment for commercial shipping vessels, ranging from high-speed ferries to container ships to cruising vessels as the Queen Mary II. M. Jürgensen also produces liners for stationary power stations, locomotive engines and reciprocating compressors.

With Kuhn Edelstahl, former majority owner Dr. Georg Jürgensen found a responsible successor on shareholder level. Andreas Willim will stay shareholder and managing director. All sites will be operating in the future and both companies will retain their individual market presence.

M. Jürgensen and Kuhn Edelstahl are both similar family owned businesses, both specialized on the manufacturing of machine components via centrifugal casting. The only difference is that Kuhn is focusing on high-grade steel and M. Jürgensen is using alloyed cast iron. The new combination results in valuable synergies, which broadens the technology basis and extends the product portfolio of both companies.
