Transfer Partners advised the shareholders of ROBU® Glasfilter-Geräte GmbH, based in Hattert (Rhineland-Palatinate) on the sale of their shares in the company to QSIL SE, based in Ilmenau (Germany).
ROBU® Glasfilter-Geräte GmbH is the leading specialist to produce and engineer glass filter devices and sintered glass filter elements made of borosilicate and quartz glass. Under the brand name VitraPOR®, ROBU® offers a wide range of products for applications in the fields of pharmacy, sensor technology, chromatography, and nuclear medicine. The company generates more than half of its revenue by selling its products to customers outside Germany.
QSIL is a leading global specialist in refractory, high-purity as well as high-performance materials solutions. These include quartz and specialty glass, industrial and engineering ceramics, and refractory metals. With over 1,000 employees and production sites in Thuringia, the Netherlands, England, and China, QSIL generates annual revenues of over 200 million Euro. The dynamically growing company operates in more than 50 countries. Within QSIL, ROBU® is to be integrated into the Quartz and Special Glass business unit, focusing on quartz glass and soda lime special glass solutions. ROBU® will work closely with QSIL`s main production site in Ilmenau and the Dutch production site in Winschoten to integrate new technologies, production excellence and sales channels.
Transfer Partners’ mandate covered the entire M&A-process, including drafting transaction-related documents, identifying, and approaching suitable prospective candidates, managing the due diligence process, and supporting negotiations to ensure a successful closing.
