Transfer Partners advised the shareholders of steute Technologies GmbH & Co. KG ("steute") on the sale of their shares to Battery Ventures ("Battery").

Based in Löhne, Germany, steute is a global manufacturer of sensor and control technology for use in medical technology as well as safety-relevant applications in industrial automation and process technology. The company's product range includes certified medical control units that contribute to the precise operation of medical devices in operating rooms worldwide. In addition to the medical sector, steute's sensor and switching devices are also of central importance in industrial applications where safety and reliability are paramount - especially in environments that have to withstand explosive or corrosive conditions and extreme temperatures. In the field of process technology, steute also provides automation solutions across the shop floor by wirelessly connecting key elements of manufacturing.

The transaction ensures an organised succession and enables the continuation of the company's steady growth trajectory under the ongoing leadership of the proven management team consisting of Marc Stanesby and Dr Christof Gerhardy. Through the partnership with Battery, steute's market position in its key markets is to be expanded even further through continued investments and complementary M&A activities. Stefan Schmersal, the long-standing Managing Director and most recently a member of the Advisory Board, will remain with the company in his current role. The Advisory Board will also be expanded to include Jesse Feldman and Justin Rosner from Battery Ventures.

Battery Ventures is an American investment company based in Boston with additional offices in San Francisco, Menlo Park, New York, London, and Tel Aviv. Since its founding in 1983, the company has specialised in partnering with technology leaders and invests along all stages of the company life cycle from the seed, and early to growth and buyout.

Transfer Partners' mandate comprised the advisory of the sales process including due diligence management as well as the support of the final negotiations up to the successful signing.
