Ambo-Stahl, founded in 1916 and based in Cologne, is a traditional medium-sized processing service provider for special structural steel sheets. As a leading company in terms of quality, Ambo-Stahl specialises in wear-resistant special structural steel sheets and high-strength fine-grain structural steels, which are sourced from renowned European steelworks. The transaction ensures an orderly succession and gives KMG the opportunity to strengthen its market position in the area of high-quality processing services for the defense and infrastructure sector. Felix Schmitz, CEO of KMG, explains: ‘[With the acquisition of Ambo-Stahl] we are also fulfilling our responsibility as a company in the face of the European ‘Zeitenwende’ - by supporting our customers in the defense industry, but also in the infrastructure sector, in building strong value chains. Through targeted investments and the combination of expertise, we are helping to strengthen Europe's defense capabilities and accelerate infrastructure development.’
