The European longevity market is currently experiencing a decisive turning point: microdosed peptide therapies and intelligent wearable integrations are merging into a new ecosystem that focuses on personalized anti-aging approaches and preventive health strategies. This trend is being driven not only by groundbreaking scientific discoveries in targeted cell repair using senolytic and peptide-based agents, but also by the rapid spread of digital health platforms and wearables that monitor vital signs in real time and enable individualized treatment concepts. Against the backdrop of an aging population and rising healthcare costs, this paradigm shift calls for innovative solutions that redefine both clinical efficiency and patient empowerment.

From an M&A perspective, this sector is becoming increasingly relevant. German SMEs in the pharmaceutical, medtech, and IT sectors are faced with the question of how to enter this dynamic environment and strategically expand their portfolios. An illustrative example of this is the acquisition of the European telemedicine platform Zava by the US group Hims & Hers in June 2025. With this all-cash deal, Hims & Hers not only secures direct access to over one million users in Germany, France, Ireland, and the UK, but also impressively demonstrates the potential of digitally scalable healthcare offerings for preventive and lifestyle-oriented therapies. The Zava acquisition demonstrates how digital platforms act as a link between wearable sensors, microdosing apps, and traditional therapeutic approaches, opening up new M&A opportunities.

For medium-sized companies, there are a variety of acquisition strategies available: add-on acquisitions of innovative peptide developers, strategic minority investments in biohacking start-ups, or joint ventures with wearable hardware providers. These transaction models make it possible to realize technological synergies, take advantage of regulatory support programs under the EU's Healthy Ageing Action Plan, and strengthen market access.
