In the last quarter, we took a closer look at medium-sized technology leadership in power electronics. The recently concluded deal by the Bregal group of companies, which sold EA-Elektro-Automatik to the conglomerate Fortive, confirms the interest of larger companies in the know-how of small medium-sized “champions”. This edition of the SektorReport is about the steel and metal processing industry, which currently has to deal with both high energy costs and a tense order situation in view of changing economic conditions.

Against this background, in the deal report we examine the sale of three plants of the Swiss Steel Group - one of the largest steel processors in the DACH region based in Switzerland.
