The current edition of our SektorReport Mobility for Q3 2025 deals with the currently heavily subsidized market for automated transport infrastructure. Under the umbrella term Connected, Cooperative & Automated Mobility (CCAM), integrated platform solutions are emerging that offer good growth opportunities, particularly for small and medium-sized niche players.
Driven by EU programs such as the CCAM Partnership and the Connecting Europe Facility Transport Program, which alone provides EUR 2.5 billion for the digitization and modernization of European transport infrastructure, the segment is gaining significant momentum. While OEMs and international automotive suppliers are looking for ways out of the recession, small and medium-sized enterprises in particular are showing a high level of innovation, but also increasing pressure to consolidate. Data sovereignty, software IP, and cybersecurity expertise are becoming key value drivers for companies that want to hold their own in a growing market environment.
Against this backdrop, our Sektor Insight analyzes the key subsegments of the CCAM market—from technology platforms to infrastructure and automated mobility to highly specialized software providers—and highlights the M&A potential for strategic buyers and financial investors in the SME segment. A particular focus is placed on Vehicle2X (V2X), which is highly relevant not only for cooperative driving functions, but also for the question of ownership and utilization of the resulting data.
In the Deal Report, we also look at the acquisition of Heusch/Boesefeldt GmbH by the Austrian company Swarco AG, which was supported by Transfer Partners. The transaction illustrates the integration of small and medium-sized players into a holistic platform for the efficient operation of transport infrastructure.
