At the end of the year, in the last edition of our SektorReport in 2023, we would like to address the most important trends in the tech industry for 2024 and illustrate their influence on the M&A market.

Overall, the year ends with a slightly positive upward trend in terms of valuation. In particular, companies in the media segment experienced an increase in valuation in Q4, while the software and IT services segments stagnated. Likewise, deal volume remained at roughly the same level compared to Q3.

In the deal report, we highlight the public takeover offer by US tech investor Thoma Bravo for the German software specialist EQS, which is symptomatic of one of the key tech trends of the coming years.
