Unfortunately, the war in Ukraine and the associated economic imponderables have become part of our daily lives and there is still no end in sight. Thanks to the very mild autumn so far and the fact that the storage facilities are currently almost 99% full, concerns about the short to medium-term gas supply in Germany have eased somewhat. That is why we would like to devote this Sector Report to an important raw material that has been hotly debated in each of the last summers but then regularly falls into oblivion – water. After all, every German uses an average of 128 liters a day, so the availability and cost of water play an important role, which becomes even more important in times of long dry periods.

In the following, we would like to explain briefly what share the price development has in the current inflation and how the big players are increasingly consolidating the (mineral) water market.
